AUGUSTE H. THOMAS
FORMES ET COULEURS
AUGUSTE THOMAS WORKED AS A DESIGNER IN THE ART DECO PERIOD. HIS POCHOIRS
ARE CLEAN, BRIGHT AND SUPERBLY COLOURED WITH EXPERT DRAFTSMANSHIP.
THE POCHOIR PROCESS OF COLOURING PRINTS INVOLVED STENCILS THAT WERE LAID
ON THE PAPER AND HAND FILLED WITH A PAINT SOAKED BRUSH. EACH COLOUR HAD
ITS OWN STENCIL. THE RESULT OF WHICH IS THE BEAUTIFUL BUILDUP OF COLOURS
THAT IS TYPICAL OF THIS TECHNIQUE. THIS IS THE SAME PROCESS USED IN THE PRODUCTION
OF THEBENEDICTUS,
SEGUY
AND CHARLET
SERIES.
THOMAS WAS WELL FITTED TO BELONG TO THIS ELITE GROUP OF DESIGNERS.
HIS PRINTS ARE TIMELESSLY CONTEMPORARY, RELEVENT AND STYLISH TODAY.
THIS IS A COMPLETE PORTFOLIO. IN OUR OPINION THOMAS IS A MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS
PRINT COLLECTORS. COPIES OF THIS SERIES CAN BE FOUND IN THE COLLECTIONS OF THE
